Because we are our best advocate for own health, it is vitally important to know as much about what is going on in our bodies as possible. Everyone has hormones, and we tend to take these little messengers for granted. It may actually amaze you that you have about 50 different hormones in your body that are carrying out very important functions. Wouldn't it be beneficial to at least know about the sex hormones that can end up wreaking so much havoc later on in our lives? Well, you don't have to want anymore because I will be presenting on the sex hormones, progesterone, estrogen, and testosterone on Saturday, January 28th, 2017 at 10:30 am at the one and only "Pink Library" (Lakes Region Library).
I will begin by touching on the basics of each sex hormone, including each of their functions, symptoms to expect when there is either too much or too little of the hormone present in the body, and causes of hormone excess or deficiency. From here, I will move on to the mind-blowing difference between synthetic and bio-identical hormones. Once I compare the two, you will be left wondering why the synthetic versions are even still on the market. I will also go over the gold standard of testing for hormones, so you are not wasting your money on tests that do not accurately reflect the bioavailable or "active" form of the hormones. Finally, I will wrap it all up by going over Custom Meds' program called The Power of Balance that we offer at the pharmacy to help patients get the education and proper replacement therapy that they need.
We hope to see you all there. If you have a friend or family member that could benefit from this information, please invite them. After all, the more the merrier.
